september randoms

wow! September has been a crazy busy month for us. we(and by we, I mean I) have been working on a lot of home improvement projects around the house to get it ready for us to put our home on the market within the next year. stay tuned for a lot of before and after pics!

we also have been busy with school, and visitors and birthdays and two little boys having ear surgery. it may have been busy but it was still a wonderful time.

  and this little creative girl has been helping me with fun art for her room. I am loving that she will have pieces of her and her creations on her walls for everyone to see. 

Both Fisher and Oliver had to have ear surgery this past week. Oliver got tubes put in his ears, and after three years of his tubes not falling out, Fisher finally got his removed and a small patch put in to help heal a small hole. Both boys did amazing after their surgeries and have been so much happier since then.

  the kids have adopted this beloved box as their personal toy. they use it for everything from it being a train, to a spaceship, to a bed. they carry it around all take turns with it. So when they sweetly asked if they could color it, i just couldn't say no!

  and this little boy just will not stay still. since he has mastered going up and down the stairs, climbing into little beds or cabinets, it's become a fun little game to find where Oliver is hiding. his sister's bed has become a favorite spot so far.

  this past week my aunt and uncle from colorado were driving through kansas city and wanted to stop and visit the world war one veterans memorial. they asked if we would meet them there and so we drove down to meet up with them for a little bit. it was such a neat and amazing place that we would definitely like to go back and spend more time there.

rest assure, we are not quite ready for Halloween just yet. but if you happened to come visit our home or run into us at home depot, the grocery store or even out to dinner at your favorite restaurant you might just think that we are all ready and dressed up for Halloween.

almost every morning after Fisher gets on his bus and the kids are all fed and dressed I hear two little small voices asking if they can put on their costumes. it's fun watching and listening to these two when they are all in character. and even though Sabrina just might be dressed up as Buzz Light year, she calls herself buzz light year robin(she wants to be Robin for Halloween).

seriously, i just love being a mom to these fun kids of mine. love my little superheros... all four of them!

i swear this sweet girl has a hidden stash of markers somewhere. she loves to color so much that she has to color everything, including herself!

Saturday, September 28th is the Kansas City Autism Walk. We have been attending these walks ever since Fisher was diagnosed with autism over three years ago. This is such an amazing organization and the work and effort they put into raising awareness for autism is just incredible. Did you know that every 11 minutes, a family receives the devastating news that their child has an autism spectrum disorder.

We love our Fisher more than anything in the world and will do anything and everything to make life in our crazy world easier for him.

Oliver, you're one!!

this weekend we were lucky enough to have friends come from far and wide to celebrate our little Oliver turning one. he is definitely loved and we enjoyed having everyone come!

on the night of his actual birthday we decided to do presents and go out to dinner for burgers and ice cream(some of Oilver's favorites).

the big kids were so excited for Oliver to open his presents. they kept asking all day when he would get to do it, so finally before we left for dinner we sat down and opened presents. Oliver seemed to enjoy the wrapping paper more than the actual presents :) 

one of his favorite toys is this superhero car. he absolutely loves walking and pushing it than actually riding it, and he is also quite possessive of it too!

we decided to have a monster bash for our little monster and we couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. we have been having a huge heat wave in the last few weeks and we were getting pretty nervous since we were having an outdoor party for the kids. But Saturday was just perfect and it was so nice to be outside. 

Oliver was so funny when it came time for cake. He wanted that candle so bad and became so frustrated when he couldn't reach it that I think we all sang the fastest 'happy birthday' ever. once this kid stuck his fingers in his cake, there was no looking back. he LOVED it! 

oh happy birthday sweet baby boy! you are so very loved!!
