ready or not...

We have officially begun our summer break over here in the Crowder house. I can't believe that the school year is already over with.  Time seriously just flew by and here we are with three months of summertime happiness and possibly complete craziness too. 

And lets be honest here, I may have cried(and possibly still am) at the fact that these little people are growing up just a little too fast for me. I can't believe that Fisher will be a first grader and grow probably 3 more inches before the summer is over. This kid is huge! 

And Chase is going to be a kindergartner! I think I am having the hardest time with him growing up because man... that was so fast! Plus, I love love LOVE his teacher and sadly she is retiring this year(so happy for her) and I am so bummed that we wont get to see her anymore. She is absolutely amazing!

And our little miss Bre is going to go to pre-school and she is more than ready. With the way her birthday falls she couldn't go last year even though she begged and begged everyday to get on that bus with Chase. I am excited for her, but it will be so so quiet around this house with all three gone.

Good thing we have summer. I am ready to soak up all of those little smiles and sounds of laughter. Whether we are ready or not, summer break is here and it is going to be... wait for it... legendary! :)

last week of school

This time of year is always crazy busy with end of school programs, class parties, teacher gifts and meetings for the coming school year. We are so excited that school will be out and we have the summer to have fun and play and hopefully sleep in(wishing). It's also been a little crazy with me training for another half marathon, this one being a challenging one, and lots of new photo shoots, but if you know me I love a little stress here and there ;)

Fisher had his end of the year program and it was absolutely adorable! The kids were so cute singing and dancing and we loved watching our big boy participate with his classmates. 

Just a little late on the hand gestures, but at least he did them!!

Fisher with his good friend and old neighbor, Lila. She has been the greatest friend and Fisher absolutely adores here. I am so thankful that there have been so many amazing kids in Fisher's class who just love to play with him. As we were walking out from the program a little boy in Fisher's class ran up to him to say hi. His mother came up and said that Carter just loves Fisher and is always talking about him at home. That seriously brought tears to my eyes to know that Fisher and overcoming his social anxiety and actually making friends. He truly is accomplishing so much! 

  Fisher loves his kindergarten teacher. Before we left he had to go tell her bye. I can't believe that this sweet and funny boy is going to be in first grade next year! So crazy but we are so very proud of this amazing boy of ours. He is accomplishing more than we could ever image and is continually to grow and blossom everyday. 

And this gorgeous weather we have been having lately is making us so excited for summer and fun in the sun! Of course we have to play in it as much as we can!

  Can't believe that summer vacation will be here in 3 days!! We got a lot of planning for a lot of fun this year! Hope you guys all have a wonderful week!!

 

12 months of running | may | kansas city temple run 5k

This past Saturday I got to run the super fun Kansas City Temple Run 5k. I love this race for so many reasons. It's just a fun and easy 5k that is a relatively flat course around the Kansas City Temple. But let me tell you, there are some seriously fast fast people who run this race. Like super fast! I got a new PR(personal record for a 5k) at 21:44. That's a 7 minute mile and I still was the third female to cross the finish line and probably 18th or so overall. Those boys can run!! I was so excited at how hard I pushed myself and how good I felt this entire race. Such a huge accomplishment! 

I love this race too because they have so much for families and the kids to do. Before the race they had a huge pancake breakfast. The kids loved the yummy food!

  This year they had a raffle for all of those who participated in the race. They did right before we ran so I was standing at the starting line and Wayne and the kids had my ticket. It was exciting when they called the first number out and I saw Wayne excitedly running to the announcer. We won and autograph Kansas City Chiefs hat from the head coach, Andy Reed!

  Of course while I was running, Wayne was able to meet and get a picture with Andy Reed. He is now a converted Chiefs fan. It will be interesting in our household come football season. Even though I am a diehard Broncos fan and the Chiefs are our biggest rival, I have always liked Coach Andy Reed and he is such a nice guy even in person! Wayne also got to me Jeremy Guthrie from the Kansas City royals too, another super nice guy! So this was a such an awesome experience!! 

  With my new PR I got first place in my age group! 

  Love that my family loves to come watch me race and cheer me on! They are seriously the best cheerleaders ever! 

And even after my big race they had a fun one for the kids. Sabrina was the only one who wanted to run and she was so excited when she crossed that big finish line and got a medal herself! She loves running with her mom!
