our birthday girl

wow! our sweet baby girl is two now. TWO! I can't believe how fast she has grown up. She is no longer my baby, but this super sweet, spunky and fun little girl now. 

With the craziness of her birthday falling on Halloween and me being Fisher's room mom for his class(more on this later) we decided to celebrate her birthday a little early. That way the day could be just about her.

We invited some of our good friends over for presents and birthday brownies on Sunday night and Sabrina loved having the company.

She had lots of presents to open and was extreamly spoiled this year. The boys got to pick out her birthday card and of course they picked out a Mickey Mouse one that sings the Clubhouse theme song when you open it. She LOVED it!! 

When my parents where in town they took Miss Bre to the Disney store in the mall to let her pick out her birthday gift. There's no question that Sabrina just loves Mickey so of course all she wanted was this larger than her Mickey Mouse doll. They also decided she needed a Minnie Mouse to go with him. As you can see by her expression... she loves her new Mickey! 

I love her little shy side smile.

  This morning, Sabrina woke up to tons of Mickey Mouse balloons and lots of singing(by me, everyone else just listened to me sing) She loved having her balloons and even showed her new Mickey his picture on the balloons. 

  Happy Birthday My Sweet Girl!! 

I can't believe you are two! You are my fun loving, carefree little girl. I love all the songs you sing, especially moon moon and itsy bitsy spider. I love that you are so happy in the morning and sweet to everyone you meet! You love playing with your big brothers and have inherited Chase's amazing imagination. You love going on walks with your mama and giving "baby brother" sweet kisses. Your dad and I have given you the nick name of 'Chatty Cathy' because you love to talk... all the time! Your vocabulary is off the charts and I sometimes think you are turning three instead of two! And if your aren't talking you are singing a song to someone or to yourself. I am so looking forward to watching you grow and blossom and become such a fun and amazing sister to your brothers. I can't put into words how much I love you. You are part of my soul and I just absolutely adore you!

a little pumpkin carving

After picking out our awesome pumpkins at the pumpkin patch, the kids were super excited to carve them. They loved watching their daddy carve and cut the pumpkin and sat so still through the whole process.

Fisher and Sabrina even helped hollow out the pumpkins and get the seeds. Chase on the other hand wanted no part of it. He does not like to get his hands dirty! So he just watched instead. 

Since we had so many pumpkins, we decided to carve the three big ones and I free handed their favorite characters on the kids smaller pumpkins with a sharpie. Chase has Ironman, Sabrina chose Mickey Mouse and Fisher wanted Perry the platypus.

pumpkin patch fun

Wayne and I thought it would be fun to take the kids to the pumpkin patch at our favorite farm. You get to ride on a horse drawn hay ride and play games and pick out a pumpkin. Although the price was just a little steep for a pumpkin patch the kids had a blast and enjoyed it, even if it was extremely cold!

The boys just loved the slide. It was super slick and fast and they thought it was so much fun.
Apparently it was way too fast for Sabrina and she ended up going backwards! She enjoyed it much better when she went down with daddy.
There was definitely lots of activities for the kids to do. They all enjoyed playing basketball and Fisher loved the corn maze. 
And who doesn't love to go fishing?
We had so much fun at the pumpkin patch and the kids were all super excited to bring home their own pumpkin! We can't wait to carve them and make cute jack-o-lanterns!

pure sweetness

The other day while I was nursing and burping Oliver, I saw Sabrina holding her Mickey doll over her shoulder and softly burping him. I loved that she had him wrapped in her favorite blanket and was quietly whispering that "it's okay baby".

  I am not going to lie, I worry that with all the boys in our household, Miss Sabrina is going to be more of a Tomboy than a girly girl. She much rather play with cars, trucks and trains or anything Chase is into than dolls or dress up. She amazingly knows every single super hero(captain america and spiderman are her favorite) and she just loves to get dirty and rough house. 

Don't get me wrong, I am perfectly happy that she is a Tomboy, but I would love to one day go shopping and play dress up and do all of the mom and daughter girly things too. After all, she is my only little girl. 

So seeing this beautiful moment of her with her 'baby' just melted my heart. I love seeing her caring and sweet side. 

  My beautiful daughter, full of so much sweetness and love. I can't get enough of it! :) 

 

fall fishing

I am just loving this fall weather right now. The fall leaves are incredibly beautiful and it's perfect for lots of outdoor activities. Like fishing! 

We have the most perfect lake that is tucked in between our favorite park here in Kansas. The kids love getting there fishing poles out and try their best to catch a fish. 

Looking just like daddy. He's a natural! 

This was Sabrina's first time fishing. She mostly just dipped her rod into the water over and over and preferred her brothers to reel in her cast for her, but she is slowly getting the hang of this whole fishing thing. 

We are looking forward to more trips to our favorite place and just enjoy this wonderful fall! 

it's hard being almost two

Some days Miss Brea doesn't get the long nap she definitely needs. She tries so hard to keep up with her big brothers and friends, and some days I find her like this. Passed out in her brother's room. Thankfully she found I nice pillow to rest her head on.

oliver :: one month

Yup! This sweet boy is one month now! 

And boy is he ever growing and changing and letting his sweet little personality come out. 

We are so loving having little Oliver in our lives and be part of our wonderful family. He has the calmest and quiet little personality. He hardly seems to cry except for when he is super hungry or has a messy diaper(he loves having his diaper changed.) And he has earned the nickname "squeaks" because of the constant grunts and squeaks he makes. 

I love that he is starting to share his adorable little smile with us and staying awake during the day longer. He loves looking around and just stare at his crazy and loud siblings. 

And the kids just adore him!

Sabrina loves to help me with diaper changes and nursing. She is constantly telling the baby "it's okay baby" even when Oliver is sleeping. She gently pats his bum for me while I am nursing him and she thinks it's hilarious every time he makes a sound. I know she is just going to be such an amazing big sister to Oliver, she has already shown us so much caring and sweetness towards him.

  Chase just adores him! He has even told me on a couple occations that he doesn't want a baby sister, he just wants his baby brother. Little does he know he loves his little sister just as much as Oliver, but it's so amazing to see how loving and caring he is to him. Constantly wanting to hold him and kiss him and just lay by him. It's really so so sweet.

Just pure love!

I don't have any pictures of the two of them but Fisher loves his brother just as much. The first thing he does every afternoon from school is find where Oliver is. He loves bringing him toys and watching him sleep and I have even caught him trying to climb into his crib with him(we are still working on boundary issues.)  But I am so very grateful that he is so kind and so caring to his baby brother.

It truly is amazing how much they grow and change in just one short month. Oliver is following the footsteps of Fisher and Sabrina and growing big fast! He is already out of newborn clothes and diapers and is quickly filling our 3 month clothing. He is such a good eater and is becoming quite the chunk, which we just LOVE! I love kissing those chubby cheeks and double chin. He still resembles a lot of Chase but has the bluest eyes that I hope decide to stay.

We are so so very much in love with this little guy of ours!!
