meet kia

Meet our sweet pup Kia! She joined our family almost a week ago but it seriously feels like she has always been a part of our busy little family. We have been wanting to get a dog for awhile now and we debated about getting a service dog for Fisher or rescuing one from a shelter. And after many many trips to local shelters and adoption events, Wayne finally surprised us one evening with Kia! 

Kia(pronounced like the car) is a super sweet 2 year old black lab and just absolutely perfect for our family. She adores the kids, is loyal to Wayne and is always near me when I am folding laundry, working on the computer of fixing dinner.

She is also completely house trained and obedient and catches flies which is just so awesome!

And the kids are just completely in love with her. Everyday she is greeted in the morning from all the little ones. Chase makes sure she is fed, Sabrina takes her outside and Oliver just makes sure that she is loved. And Fisher... Fisher is just in heaven! The moment he gets home from school he is outside playing and running around with her.

I am so excited to have Kia around too. Besides being the cutest thing she helps makes those nights when Wayne is gone a little more safer(even though I am pretty sure she wouldn't hurt a soul... including bad guys), but just knowing she is there is pretty reassuring.

This sweet girl is already so very spoiled and love and I know that she will love being a part of our family too. We are looking forward to loving on this cute pup for many many years!

 

another wonderful saturday

I am slacking in my posting. It's amazing how in an instance life gets busy and crazy and filled with soccer games, piano practice, dinner with friends and so on. I am not complaining in the least bit but I do enjoy the few quiet times when I do get to sit down and reflect on the adventures from previous days.

Last Saturday(Oliver's birthday) Wayne and I took the kids on a fun and busy filled day. We picked up our friend Josh, who is a sweet 9 year old autistic boy living with his grandma, and drove down to a lake where Wayne was supposed to fish for a tournament. It was an event to raise money for wounded soldiers and to also take them out fishing. Because Wayne hurt his back pretty bad in July, he wasn't able to fish the event, but he did want to go down and show his support and we thought the kids would enjoy a morning of fishing. 

Which they totally did!

After a fun morning of catching nothing(but still having fun) we quickly got a bite to eat and then we went to check out a fun air show near by.

The kids really did enjoy looking and watching all of the planes. Their favorite thing to do was to climb on all of the army trucks and look inside all of the old planes. I think Wayne enjoyed the show just as much as the kids did!

We are so lucky that we have so many awesome things to see so close to home. I think it was a great day for everyone and sweet Josh kept asking when we could do this all again! 

We are looking forward to many more wonderful Saturdays! 

happy birthday Oliver!!

I can hardly believe that our sweet baby boy is two now. TWO! Those two years just flew by and although it is quite sad that we no longer have a baby in our house, we are so loving our fun and growing toddler who just completes our family so very much!

Oliver's birthday was a fun filled and busy day. That morning I helped out our church with a fun 5K walk/run so we were all up early getting ready. Oliver loved waking up to our tradition of balloons and singing and was in absolute heaven for all of the attention he was receiving that day. 

After my run we went and picked up a special friend with us, Josh(more pictures to follow), to go fishing and then to a fun air show for the evening. We had lunch at a fun little Chinese restaurant and then dinner at an even funner bbq. Once we dropped Josh off at home we went home for presents and desserts.
Oliver loved opening all of his presents but he especially loved anything that had to do with trains. This boy is all about trains and he was so excited for the new ones to add to his collection. 

  I love this face of his. He is trying so very hard to blow out his candles. He is just to stinking cute!!

Happy Birthday Mr. Oliver!

I can't express how much you truly fill our lives up with joy! You are so funny, so kind and so very helpful! You love playing with your big siblings and wrestling with the boys. You love cracking yourself up and I absolutely love it when I catch you singing to yourself. You are so into trains and airplanes and you definitely have to make sure when you let us know when you spot one as we are driving around. You are the first to greet anyone as they walk through the door and you have picked up your mother's habit of saying "sorry" to everyone we meet. I love your morning cuddles and your wet kisses. You are so very smart and you love learning along with your big brothers and sister. Oliver, you truly completed our family and we are so very blessed having you be our baby! Happy birthday my sweet boy! Mama loves you so very much!!
