i'm a room mom

This year I am a room mom. People think I am crazy, with having a newborn baby and two other small children, but it kind of just accidentally happened.

Last year, no one offered to be room mom for Fisher's class and his amazing teacher and aids put all the parties and activities together themselves. They did an amazing job, but I felt so bad that they didn't have much help. I did come to all of his parties and offered as much of my service they would take, but this year I wrote down that I would love to help out again if needed, like be an assistant or something. Well, somehow that information got passed along and the next thing I know I am getting emails for room mom meetings and other things. Fisher's teacher offered to take over things again with having a newborn and all but this time I felt like I could do it.

I am not going to lie though, after the first room mom meeting and the list of the many things you must do, I felt pretty overwhelmed. Thank you pinterest and my amazing husband, I was able to come up with a few fun games, crafts and snacks for a very awesome party for my son and his classmates.

Photobucket I made these awesome monster dice out of styrofoam cubes and googly eyes. I got the idea from here and the kids just loved playing the game. They were cute to watch!
Photobucket I also made this sensory scavanger hunt game for them. I died the rice orange and added black beans. Then I got different kinds of halloween trinkets and candy for them to dig and find. Huge success!
Photobucket Photobucket For the craft I found this cute idea from Better Homes and Garden to make Bat sock puppets. I took kids socks and glued the wings and ears on for them and then the kids got to put the eyes, mouth and fangs on themselves.
Photobucket They also got to make funny mouths out of apple slices, peanut butter and marshmallows and then eat them afterwards.
Photobucket We also decorated cupcakes and sang songs. It was so much fun and I really enjoyed putting it all together. I even had a couple moms volunteer to help me with the winter party. So... Yay!!
Photobucket I can't express how much I love this kid! He is such a fun little boy and it was so awesome to see him with his friends and get excited over games! A fun time for us all for sure!!

halloween adventure

This year was such a blast for Halloween. I loved how the three big kids got so into it and were so excited about their costumes and trick-or-treating. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait for next year!

Photobucket After all of the school parties and activities we headed over to Wayne's work to do some practice trick-or-treating. Sabrina was hilarious! She would say "trick-or-treat BOO!" to everyone and then proceed to tell them she was "super girl"! She was pretty proud of her costume and I loved all of my superheroes.
Photobucket Chase wanted to be Ironman and Fisher really wanted to be Captain America, but when we were getting costumes we couldn't find it in his size so he decided he rather be Spiderman than have to wait to get a costume.
Photobucket Photobucket Oliver was baby Spiderman and just as cute as could be! Both the boys loved that he had a Spiderman Costume and told everyone they could too.
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket We all had so much fun going around our new neighborhood trick-or-treating. They really get into it hear and the houses were decorated so cool! There was even a fun haunted maze in someone's backyard. Chase wasn't a huge fan of it, but was a trooper the whole time.
Photobucket I think Fisher loved the trick-or-treaters more than trick-or-treating himself. He waited by the door, constantly staring out the tiny window waiting for visitors. He would even make them ring the doorbell before he opened the door.
Photobucket And once we ran out of candy(I was quite surprised) he was willing to give him his own in hopes that new trick-or-treaters would arrive. It was so sweet! We definitely had a wonderful Halloween. I love this time of year and it is so exciting to see our children loving it more too! Looking forward to the rest of fall before winter arrives!

our birthday girl

wow! our sweet baby girl is two now. TWO! I can't believe how fast she has grown up. She is no longer my baby, but this super sweet, spunky and fun little girl now.

With the craziness of her birthday falling on Halloween and me being Fisher's room mom for his class(more on this later) we decided to celebrate her birthday a little early. That way the day could be just about her.

We invited some of our good friends over for presents and birthday brownies on Sunday night and Sabrina loved having the company.

Photobucket She had lots of presents to open and was extreamly spoiled this year. The boys got to pick out her birthday card and of course they picked out a Mickey Mouse one that sings the Clubhouse theme song when you open it. She LOVED it!!
Photobucket When my parents where in town they took Miss Bre to the Disney store in the mall to let her pick out her birthday gift. There's no question that Sabrina just loves Mickey so of course all she wanted was this larger than her Mickey Mouse doll. They also decided she needed a Minnie Mouse to go with him. As you can see by her expression... she loves her new Mickey!
Photobucket I love her little shy side smile.
Photobucket This morning, Sabrina woke up to tons of Mickey Mouse balloons and lots of singing(by me, everyone else just listened to me sing) She loved having her balloons and even showed her new Mickey his picture on the balloons.
Photobucket Happy Birthday My Sweet Girl!!

I can't believe you are two! You are my fun loving, carefree little girl. I love all the songs you sing, especially moon moon and itsy bitsy spider. I love that you are so happy in the morning and sweet to everyone you meet! You love playing with your big brothers and have inherited Chase's amazing imagination. You love going on walks with your mama and giving "baby brother" sweet kisses. Your dad and I have given you the nick name of 'Chatty Cathy' because you love to talk... all the time! Your vocabulary is off the charts and I sometimes think you are turning three instead of two! And if your aren't talking you are singing a song to someone or to yourself. I am so looking forward to watching you grow and blossom and become such a fun and amazing sister to your brothers. I can't put into words how much I love you. You are part of my soul and I just absolutely adore you!

a little pumpkin carving

After picking out our awesome pumpkins at the pumpkin patch, the kids were super excited to carve them. They loved watching their daddy carve and cut the pumpkin and sat so still through the whole process.
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Fisher and Sabrina even helped hollow out the pumpkins and get the seeds. Chase on the other hand wanted no part of it. He does not like to get his hands dirty! So he just watched instead.
Photobucket Since we had so many pumpkins, we decided to carve the three big ones and I free handed their favorite characters on the kids smaller pumpkins with a sharpie. Chase has Ironman, Sabrina chose Mickey Mouse and Fisher wanted Perry the platypus.
Photobucket Here's my favorite pumpkin! :) Love him!
Photobucket Hope you all have a wonderful and very happy Halloween!

pumpkin patch fun

Wayne and I thought it would be fun to take the kids to the pumpkin patch at our favorite farm. You get to ride on a horse drawn hay ride and play games and pick out a pumpkin. Although the price was just a little steep for a pumpkin patch the kids had a blast and enjoyed it, even if it was extremely cold!
Photobucket The boys just loved the slide. It was super slick and fast and they thought it was so much fun.
Photobucket Apparently it was way too fast for Sabrina and she ended up going backwards! Photobucket She enjoyed it much better when she went down with daddy.
Photobucket Photobucket There was definitely lots of activities for the kids to do. They all enjoyed playing basketball and Fisher loved the corn maze.
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket And who doesn't love to go fishing?
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket We had so much fun at the pumpkin patch and the kids were all super excited to bring home their own pumpkin! We can't wait to carve them and make cute jack-o-lanterns!
