getting crafty

so last week was a looong and very tiring week for me. wayne had surgery(for his deviated septum) and was out of commission for the week. i am talking about he stayed in bed and couldn't move so i had to solo parent FIVE little people kind of week. and on top of that i had three kiddos with double ear infections, four with sinus infections and one with a lower respiratory infection. i was a walking pharmacy in this house.

but, i am happy to say that everyone is on the mends and pretty much feeling back to normal. wayne is back at work and well... i can feel everyone's sickness starting to effect me. let's hope it doesn't since we have a trip to colorado we need to get ready for!

but in the meantime i found some fun little crafts to do with the kiddos. they love being crafty, just like their mom!

we made salt dough santa hand print ornaments. 

the kids loved playing with the dough and rolling it out. they had fun smooshing their little hands in it too! 

after they baked and dried i painted them to look like santa's. the kids love these and are so proud of them. they couldn't wait to hang them on the tree. and i am so loving how itty bitty little oliver's hand print is! it will be fun to look back at these as they grow bigger and bigger. 

also, i have been super busy with fisher's classroom holiday party. my kitchen has looked like a paper machine has exploded. with paint, and glue and paper everywhere.

we have also been busy making teacher gifts for the amazing and wonderful teachers in our lives. 

and i am pretty proud of my nutcracker bowling pins i made for the game in fisher's class. they turned out cute and really weren't that hard to make. i am excited for my kids to play with them in the years to come! 

and we continue on the many traditions we have started with our little family. we always make a thumbprint ornament since the boys were small. i love looking at how big their little thumb is getting and how full our ornament is getting. plus, we always bring out all of our chirstmas books and put them on the fireplace to read each night before bed. sometimes the kids just like to go and sit there and read them to themselves throughout the day. it's become a favorite daytime activity. 

well, we still have lots to do around this crowder home. we have a letter to santa we need to write asking if he will come early and we have presents to wrap and cookies to make. looking forward to a wonderful christmas!!
