Wayne had the amazing experience of Marshaling for a huge bass tournament at Table Rock Lake down in Branson, MO. this past week. He really wanted the kids and I to join him while he was down there so the kids and I loaded up and drove down after the boys school on Thursday. Wayne was gone most of the days being on the lake, so the kids and I kept busy during the day with fun activities and such.
Friday morning I decided to take the kids to the Promise Land Zoo in Branson. Despite the fact that it is just a tad bit pricey, it was a super fun experience. They have a ton of neat and fun little animals and we got our own little private show(with just one other family) of meeting and petting exotic animals.
the kids loved petting this prairie dog. it was super chill and just let the kids feed it cheerios and pat it.
The zoo had this fun little parakeet enclosure where you got to hold sticks of bird food for them to land and fly around on. Oliver thought this was the coolest thing ever and he tried his hardest to catch one these little birds.
The zoo also gave us a cup of food to feed any of the animals that wanted some. The kids had a blast feeding all of the animals, especially Oliver. This boy just loves animals and he had to feed every single one that he saw. No joke, I literally had to pry him away from the fences so that we could move on to the next set of animals.
Later that afternoon we went and met Wayne at the weigh-in. The kids scored some pretty fun frisbees that kept them entertained for the afternoon.
This is one of Wayne's good friends from his Utah fishing days. Brandon is now a big time bass pro and one of the nicest guys. He signed the kids frisbees and talked fishing with the boys. It was really fun to see him do so well in this tournament.
Saturday we had a much more relaxing day of coloring and blowing bubbles. It was a beautiful day and luckily there was a park right next to where we were staying so we decided to spend the afternoon out in the sun.
Wayne got home a little early that day so we quickly went to Silver Dollar City to grab our seasonal passes for the year and let the kids ride some of the fun rides for a bit.
Then we spent most of Sunday morning back at Silver Dollar City, riding the rides and playing till the final weigh-in of the bass tournament and our long drive back home.
These two are perfect riding partners. Neither one likes to go very fast or high on the rides but Fisher loves the fast spinning tea cups and Sabrina is the only one who will ride Fire in the Hole(a fast roller coaster in the dark) so who knows with these two! they crack me up!!
Oliver is following in Chase's footsteps and loves riding the rides too. He gets super upset when he can't go on the bigger rides and just has to watch from the sideline. Next year he will have a blast for sure!
and there you have it! Our super busy and fun weekend down in Branson! It was so fun supporting Wayne in doing what he loves to do, and the kids get so excited to hear and see him with bass boats and fish. Next time, we hope, Wayne will be fishing the tournament instead of marshaling it! :)
