easter weekend

we had a super fun easter weekend with good friends and fun activities. the festivities begin saturday morning with a pot luck and easter egg hunt with friends at a local park. and although the weather wasn't completely ideal, it was still warm and such a blast! so much yummy food and the kids excitement, plus the great company, made everything worth it!

and I just have to remember this memory for when the kids get older. We have two glass jars that sit on top of our mantle in the upstairs and early this month I filled them with colored easter eggs. The other day Chase discovered these egg filled jars and went up to Wayne in all seriousness and said, "Daddy, the easter bunny came and laid eggs in the cups on the fireplace!"

i think that it is so cute that he thinks the easter bunny is the one who lays all of the eggs instead of just hiding the eggs. i can't wait to share this with him when he is older!

more snow

Remember when I posted this blog post about murphy's law and Wayne being out of town? Well, the new inside joke around here is when Wayne is out of town, it's bound to snow... a lot! Like, we are stuck and can't go anywhere for a couple of days kind of snow.

We are getting pretty used to it though.

photo DSC_5236copy_zpse2730ee8.jpg photo 1-101_zps077a5a60.jpg At least I had my three little helpers!
photo DSC_5261copy_zps37c4340d.jpg photo 2-76_zpsf4cd0231.jpg photo DSC_5256copy_zpsd751faa4.jpg photo DSC_5273copy_zps7bca7f41.jpg photo DSC_5225copy_zps19f0fc03.jpg And what normally takes me an hour to shovel, now takes me three with these cute little guys, but that is okay. We have a lot of fun out in the snow.

And I normally don't mind the snow, especially in December and January, but I am so ready for spring and warmer temperatures!

I don't think we will be letting Wayne take any more trips for awhile! ;)

fun with the bishops :: part 2

On Thursday we decided to pack our cars up and head down to our favorite place, silver dollar city in Branson. If you follow this blog at all you know we go there quite a bit and we just had to take Wayne and Amy to show them all the fun.

We spent most of Thursday stopping at local tourist places and eating at the oh so fun and so so yummy Lamberts and then checking into our hotel room for the night. Friday was the opening day for Silver Dollar City and also the opening of their new wooden roller coaster, which I might just add is AWESOME! We got there right as the park open and stayed till it closed. We had that much fun!

I felt like we were able to enjoy the rides more and now that Sabrina is big enough to ride most of the rides it was nice to always have someone to watch Oliver so that we could all go on the rides together. So happy that we planned this trip, because it was perfect!
photo 4-21_zps494ea604.jpg Oliver was such a trooper and such a happy baby on our trip!

Everyday was a blast and a new adventure and we were so sad to see them leave on Saturday. But that's okay, because we are planning another Bishop/Crowder vacay in the near future.

How about Orlando... in November? :)

fun with the bishops :: part 1

Our fun and awesome friends from Utah, Wayne and Amy and their boy Finn, came and visited us for eight days during their spring break. We were so excited to have them come out and stay with us that we packed our days full with fun activities, yummy food and tours of our favorite places in our new city.

First stop was the Crowne Plaza where we had tickets to the aquarium and Lego Land. But first we stopped at some yummy bbq at Gates and then shopped a little in the plaza. The kids just love the Crayola place and we had a blast with them there.

After we played in the mall for a bit we walked across the street to the aquarium and Lego Land. We decided on do the aquarium first and Lego Land afterwards.
photo DSC_4184copy_zps00e741ca.jpg The aquarium isn't too big or fancy and I think the price might be a little steep for what you get to see but the kids just absolutely love it and love it every time we go to visit, so I can't really complain.
photo DSC_4190copy_zps3967c1f0.jpg And Fisher is just in his element when he is at any aquarium. He just loves watching fish.
photo DSC_4202copy_zps89cc4c39.jpg And the aquarium does have this cool little area where you can touch sea urchins and star fish.
photo DSC_4207copy_zpsba422f23.jpg Next stop, Lego Land.
photo DSC_4248copy_zpsc3191cad.jpg This was our first time going to Lego Land since they have opened it and despite the fact that their coolest and main ride was closed for the day I still thought that this place was such a fun place for the kids. There is SO much for them to do here and all of the kids just thought it was the coolest place ever. I know we will have to go back again in our near future!
photo 3-41_zpsc3852963.jpg Building cool race cars with the daddies.

Later on in the week after many more fun trips to restaurants and bbq joints we decided to take our friends to our zoo. The weather was a bit cold but I thought it would still be fun to explore. It was, but there were hardly any animals out. At least the kids had fun and riding the tram is always a fun activity with the kiddos.

photo DSC_4291copy_zps5a00d837.jpg photo DSC_4310copy_zpsec48ea34.jpg and when there are no people and no animals at the zoo it means it's time for a dance party.

Time spent with the Bishops is always a fun time!
