We were so excited when Wayne's youngest brother decided to fly out on a whim to spend a long week with us. We always enjoy having visitors come to stay but the kids just love when their aunts and uncles come, because that always means some extra attention and loving from someone so fun.
We made the most of having Uncle Derek with us. We took him to all the fun and yummy eateries, a movie, lots of outdoor fun and of course to our favorite farm and Silver Dollar City. We just had to take him to Silver Dollar City! Needless to say, it was packed full but oh so fun!
we definitely spent a lot of time outside sharing this awesome heatwave and humidity with uncle D. it does take a while to get use to ;)
a certain someone got a little carried away with the sidewalk coloring and decided to color their baby brother instead. at least she is a creative one and he looks pretty cute!
We decided to show uncle Derek our favorite farm while the boys where in school but unfortunately I forgot my camera. Good thing I love my camera phone to help capture some of the fun moments there!
Then of course we had to just take Derek to our favorite local spot here. Good ol' Silver Dollar City(or as Wayne and Derek call it, Redneck Disneyland)
I just love my silly girl! She thinks she is a riot and she is right. She is so much fun to be around.
Fisher is so much happier watching then riding the rides, but he is slowing coming out of his comfort zone and it starting to want to ride more. He loves the ladybugs and of all things the teacups. I love watching him grow.
I love how much she absolutely adores her baby brother. hearing these two laugh together is one of my favorite sounds.
close to the end of the day it became insanely hot and we decided that we would go ride the log ride to cool off. However, the line was over an hour long and I don't think anyone wanted to wait that long. Fisher decided to go over to the huge crowd of kids who just so happened to be watching the log ride go down the big hill and the next thing you know he was complete soaked and a little surprised too!
It was definitely one way to cool off!
We so enjoyed our time with Derek. The kids just adored him(as they do with all of their uncles and aunts) but it was fun to have someone here for the week. He is definitely missed and we can't wait for him to come back!!
